Prayer for England Day 82

Further points for prayer

The prayers below have been copied from and by kind permission of the Hatikvah Film Trust (UK registered Charity No’ 1104887)

Cry out for a deep spirit of repentance to fall on our nation, beginning with the household of God, both for our failures towards God’s people and for our turning away from the standards of the word of God. Pray for a revival of God’s word within the church  and the nation. “As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this evil has come on us. Yet we did not make our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand Your truth.” (Daniel 9:13)

Intercede for our Parliament and leaders to act justly and wisely and in line with God’s word in their dealings with Israel, so that they may not hinder God’s purposes, but rather open the way for blessing for our nation. “For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish, and those nations shall be utterly ruined.” (Isaiah 60:12)

Stand against the spirit of anti-Semitism as it continually seeks to gain strength in Britain today. Pray that anti-Semitism will be exposed wherever it exists, and that God’s spirit will bring conviction and changed heart attitudes towards Jewish people and the nation of Israel. Pray for truth to prevail over lies and deception. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,”            (2 Corinthians 10:4, 5)

Intercede concerning the widespread false teaching that the church has replaced Israel in God’s purposes, which has brought spiritual weakness and error to the church. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give true understanding of Scripture and to pour God’s own love for his people Israel into Christian hearts. “…….the love of God has been poured out  in our hearts through the Holy Spirit given to us.” (Romans 5:5)
